Lactation Education in Grinnell, Iowa

1-1 Lactation Education Sessions

Every breastfeeding journey is unique. Whether you're preparing to feed your first baby, working through a common breastfeeding challenge, or simply looking for reassurance, these personalized sessions provide evidence-based education tailored to your goals and your family.

Together, we can discuss topics like latch and positioning, milk supply, pumping, bottle introduction, returning to work, common newborn feeding behaviors, and what to expect during the early weeks. As a Lactation Educator, I provide basic breastfeeding education and support while recognizing when additional expertise is needed. If concerns arise outside my scope of practice, I'll connect you with trusted IBCLCs or other healthcare professionals to ensure you receive the specialized care you deserve.

Prenatal Breastfeeding Workshop

Breastfeeding is natural—but that doesn't mean it always comes naturally. This workshop is designed to help you feel prepared before your baby arrives by giving you realistic expectations, practical skills, and the confidence to navigate the early days of feeding.

We'll cover how breastfeeding works, getting off to a good start after birth, recognizing hunger cues, achieving a comfortable latch, understanding normal newborn feeding patterns, pumping and bottle introduction, common challenges, and when to seek additional support. Whether you're planning to exclusively breastfeed, pump, combination feed, or are still exploring your options, you'll leave with the knowledge and resources to make informed decisions for your family.
