Babywearing 101

A woman with long dark hair holding a baby close to her chest while kissing the baby's head. The woman is wearing a blue and white striped shirt.
Babywearing can be so much more than just a way to keep your hands free — it can become a practical, supportive tool for connection, regulation, feeding, soothing, sleep, and everyday life with a baby.

This workshop is designed for expecting parents and families with young babies who want to feel more confident and informed about babywearing from the very beginning. Together, we’ll explore different styles of carriers, how to choose options that fit your lifestyle and body, foundational safety and positioning principles, and practical ways to make babywearing work in real life.

Whether you’re hoping to calm a fussy newborn, navigate life with older siblings, support naps on the go, or simply feel more connected and capable during the transition into parenthood, this workshop will help you build a strong foundation for using babywearing as an everyday parenting tool.

This workshop is held every other month on the first Tuesday of the month from 1-2pm CST. Recordings are provided to all registrants.

“Elise was so kind and knowledgeable - I would recommend a session with her, especially for new parents! We had several expensive baby carriers mostly just sitting around because we lacked the knowledge and confidence to get good use out of them. Now that’s no longer the case.”

About Elise

I’m a certified babywearing consultant trained through the Center for Babywearing Studies, where I’ve completed extensive, evidence-based training and continue to stay deeply involved in advancing babywearing education.

My work is shaped not just by training, but by years of supporting families in real life as a postpartum doula, nanny, and perinatal fitness professional. I’ve worked with parents in those early, often overwhelming days, helping them find what actually works for their bodies, their babies, and their lives.

And I’ve lived it, too.

I’ve worn my own children through the newborn stage and beyond, learning firsthand how powerful (and sometimes frustrating) babywearing can be without the right support.

All of this comes together in the way I work: practical, personalized, and grounded in both science and lived experience so you can feel confident, capable, and supported every step of the way.
